IN THE CUP...

This lot is a truly impressive multidimensional coffee. Tanzanian coffees are distinguished by their elegant acidity. In this land Geisha develops an incomparable and elegant flavor profile. In the cup you will find notes of stone fruits with peach standing out. The sparkle is provided by lime and jasmine tones. A must.

The history of coffee in northern Tanzania dates back to the 19th century. Coffee trees were brought from Reunion Island, near Madagascar, and German immigrants, who occupied the country at that time, turned it into an industry. Most of the coffee plantations in northern Tanzania seem to have been established around the 1920s, after the First World War. Approximately 80 German immigrant families moved here and established small coffee plantations. Leon Christianakis' Acacia Hills Farm is a third generation of his family to grow coffee in Tanzania. Although his grandfather and father grew coffee on their surrounding plantations, the land was not suitable for producing high quality coffee due to its low altitude. After learning about the concept of specialty coffee in the 2000s, Leon sought land at higher altitudes that could produce higher quality coffee.
